TMC CANCELA COMMITS TO GREEN HYDROGEN THROUGH THE H2RCV PROJECT TO REDUCE EMISSIONS AND PREVENT FIRES IN THE GALICIAN FORESTS
Yesterday, the H2RCV project was presented at the TMC Cancela headquarters. This innovative strategic initiative for the development of sustainable, high-tech machinery is promoted by TMC CANCELA, NEUWALME and LMB TWICE, together with the Centro Tecnológico de Automoción de Galicia (CTAG), and is co-financed by the Xunta de Galicia through European ERDF funds.
The primary objective of H2RCV is to develop a novel robotised platform utilising green hydrogen for the decarbonisation of mulching and maintenance operations in forest environments and green areas. The key innovation of this initiative lies in the adoption of hydrogen fuel cells as an alternative to the conventional combustion engines employed historically.

During the presentation, which was also attended by Carmen Cotelo, Director of Axencia Galega de Innovación- GAIN of the Xunta de Galicia, and Norberto Penedo, Director of Competitiveness at IGAPE, the promoters emphasised that this project is a significant step towards achieving a resilient Galician industrial model based on decarbonised value chains, as well as the circularisation, diversification, and sustainability of the productive matrix.
The H2RCV project strengthens Galicia’s commitment to industrial innovation and the energy transition, bringing it into line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the European Union. It will also potentially impact the competitiveness of Galician industry thanks to the creation of new manufacturing processes and the promotion of business lines based on clean technologies.
