TMC CANCELA COMMITS TO GREEN HYDROGEN THROUGH THE H2RCV PROJECT TO REDUCE EMISSIONS AND PREVENT FIRES IN THE GALICIAN FORESTS
Yesterday, the H2RCV project was presented at the TMC Cancela headquarters. This innovative, sustainable, high-tech machinery development initiative is promoted by TMC CANCELA, NEUWALME and LMB TWICE, together with the Centro Tecnológico de Automoción de Galicia (CTAG), and is co-financed by the Xunta de Galicia through European ERDF funds.
H2RCV’s main objective is to create a new robotic platform based on green hydrogen to decarbonize mulching and maintenance operations in forest environments and green areas. The project’s main innovation is its use of hydrogen fuel cells instead of combustion engines.

During the presentation, Carmen Cotelo, director of the Axencia Galega de Innovación- GAIN of the Xunta de Galicia, and Norberto Penedo, director of competitiveness at IGAPE, attended. The promoters highlighted that this project represents a significant step forward in achieving a resilient Galician industrial model based on decarbonizing value chains and diversifying, circularizing, and sustaining the productive matrix.
The H2RCV project strengthens Galicia’s dedication to industrial innovation and the energy transition by aligning with the European Union’s Sustainable Development Goals. The project will also impact the competitiveness of the Galician production sector by creating new manufacturing processes and promoting business lines based on clean technologies.
